Who are we? 

The Change Foundation is a charity that runs programmes for young people with a range of additional needs and challenges including sessions and opportunities for young people with disability.

The Change Foundation is a charity with a range of experience working with:  

  • Young women with a disability
  • Young people with autism
  • Young people from disadvantaged communities
  • Young women who are looked after / in the care system
  • Young refugees
  • Young people at risk of involvement with crime or gangs
  • Young male ex-offenders aged 18 – 25

What does the programme help young women do?  

Girls Win uses sports to help young women aged 16 – 25 with a disability of any kind set short, medium and long-term goals.

It empowers young women to think more positively about their future and how goal setting can help them develop their prospects.

Girls Win engages young women in activities that keep the body and mind healthy and supports them to adopt a growth mind-set.


What happens during the sessions? 

The weekly sessions will offer different activities including:

  • a range of sports and physical activity
  • goal setting workshops
  • peer discussion and support group
  • a physical challenge that will increase the confidence and independence of those taking part
  • expand their friendship networks and reduce social isolation

Girls Win can also offer additional opportunities which may include:

  • fun trips
  • residentials
  • work experience placements
  • apprenticeship opportunities and more
