Who we are:

Hackney Shed is a performing arts group for young people that believes every member of the group has something special to offer to the development of the art, and the development of the group.

What we do:

Hackney Shed works to provide an exciting, vibrant, creative and accepting place for children and young people to come together, share ideas and produce exciting theatre.

Hackney Shed groups for four age ranges:

  • Children’s Theatre - for ages 7 – 11 years
  • Youth Theatre – for ages 11 – 16
  • Young Company for 16 – 19 year olds
  • Collective - 16 - 25 (focus on young people with SEND)

Each of the four groups works at its own pace and everyone is encouraged to develop their own ideas within the framework developed by practitioners.

Every year groups work towards either a joint or separate performances.
