Description

Community paediatricians are specialist children's doctors who take a pivotal role in the supervision and coordination of care for the individual child/young person and their family. Services are based at Hackney Ark and Hackney Community College and delivered at the Ark as well as in other community venues and schools.  The team is made up of five consultants and nine supporting paediatricians.

Who is eligible?

Access criteria vary for different clinics but services are primarily for children resident in City and Hackney and registered with a local GP.

Referrals are accepted primarily from health professionals but for some clinics are accepted from social care and education.

  • Development and disability
  • Complex communication
  • Pre-term follow up
  • Vision
  • Audiology

How to Get Here

Buses: 30, 56, 67, 76, 149, 243, 276,

Train: Dalston Kingsland, Hackney Downs

Parking: The car park has 10 car spaces including two spaces for disabled drivers along with motorcycle and bicycle spaces. Parking is restricted to clients and service users only.

Service users will need to use the entry-phone to alert main reception of their arrival and be permitted to enter the car park.  Anyone using the car park does so at their own risk.

There are on street parking bays opposite the building.

Transport to Service? For some children & young people depending on their mobility needs.

Reception can ring for cabs for patients.

Consideration may be given to the use of hospital transport in very exceptional circumstances only.
