Community Paediatricians at Hackney Ark
Service details
Who are we?
Community paediatricians are specialist children's doctors who take a key role in the supervision and coordination of care for individual children and young people and their family. The team is made up of eleven consultants and six supporting paediatricians.
Services and clinics are based at Hackney Ark and New City College Hackney.
Some are also delivered in other community venues and schools including special schools in Hackney.
What do we do?
We coordination care for individual children or young people including assessments to identify needs and review and monitoring if appropriate. The service only sees children and parents who have an appointment at an assessment or monitoring clinic such as:
- PATCH Neuro developmental assessment clinic at Hackney Ark
- Social Communication Assessment Clinic (SCAC) at Hackney Ark
- Complex Communication Clinic at Hackney Ark
- School Age Clinic at Hackney Ark
Referrals to these clinics must be made by professionals who may do this using the MARs (Multi Agency Referrals) process.
We ask that you do not bring siblings (brother or sisters) to your appointment. This is so both the parent and the paediatrician can fully focus on the child or young person who is being assessed, monitored or reviewed.
