Who we are:
The Children Missing Education Team help track children missing from education who are defined as all children of compulsory school age who are not on a school roll, nor being educated otherwise (e.g. privately or in alternative provision) and who have been out of any educational provision for a substantial period of time (usually agreed as four weeks or more).
What we do:
The Children Missing Education Team:
- Identify and maintain contact with children residing in Hackney that are missing education
- Re-engage those missing into appropriate education at the earliest opportunity
- Identify and maintain contact with children residing in Hackney that are at risk of missing education and allocate appropriate support to ensure continuity of education
- Track children moving into Hackney until such time as they are receiving education
- Track children that move out of Hackney until such time as they are known to be engaged in education elsewhere
- Provide advice and guidance to all services in Hackney regarding children missing education

If you have any feedback about the service you received – something you like or are not happy with; then do talk about it with the worker or manager in the service, so that they can look at how they deliver their service.
