At our school, we ensure that appropriate provision is made for pupils who belong to vulnerable groups and this includes ensuring that the needs of pupils with special educational needs are met.

At Millfields, we ensure that all pupils have appropriate, effective, and timely support, challenge, and intervention, in order to meet their social, emotional, and academic potential. This includes children who may have:

• specific learning disabilities such as dyslexia
• children who are more able or gifted
• children who have English as an additional language
• children who have difficulty managing their behaviour
• children with social and emotional needs

The government has asked all schools and academies to provide parents with information about their support for young people with SEN. This is called a School's SEN Information report.

Information about the process for applying for secondary school, if you have additional needs but do not have an EHC Plan, is the same as the general admissions process. This information is available on Hackney Education's website here.

The timescale and process for starting secondary school for students with an EHC Plan is different.
