Catch 22 are launching their second London Traineeship and are proudly partnering up with the Shoreditch Trust.


Who is this traineeship for? 

This is an exciting opportunity to engage the young people of Shoreditch and surrounding areas.

This opportunity if for young people aged 16-19.

The young person has to be 19 before 31st August 2020 or up to 24 if they have an Education, Health and care Plan. 


What is the Traineeship run by Catch 22 Shoreditch Trust? 

A traineeship is a course with work experience that gets you ready for work or an apprenticeship.

You won’t be paid, but you may be given expenses for things like travel and meals.

This Traineeship is expected to last for 14 weeks but can last as long as 12 months.

What will trainees be doing during the week while on this placement? 

The traineeship programme will be running from 2 venues in Shoreditch for young people aged 16-24.

Trainees will attend:

  • 1 day a week work placement at The Waterhouse Restaurant
  • 2 days a week classroom training along with 1 and a half days remote learning.

What the training be preparing you for? 

Candidates will receive teaching and training on:

  • Functional Skills English and Maths
  • Customer Service Level 1 Award (City & Guilds)
  • Employability skills
  • Hands on Hospitality work experience

Each Trainee will be trained by the Waterhouse Restaurant in Shoreditch by trained catering staff . Trainng here will cover all aspects of working in and around the kitchen.

Trainees will develop their skills and knowledge of functional skills and also gain a Level 1 in Customer Service, a vital qualification for all sectors within Hospitality.


What is the progressions after this traineeship? 

When trainees have completed this course each candidate will be interviewed and given the opportunity to apply for an Apprenticeship with Step22 & the Waterhouse Restaurant.
