Who we are:
The Children’s Disability Forum City and Hackney helps provide peer support for parents and Carers.
We are a parent/carer led forum where parents/carers come together to talk about some of the health and social issues they face raising a child with a disability and sharing useful information with each other.
What we do:
Our parent/carer led forum is an opportunity for parents/carers to come together and talk about some of the health and social issues they face raising a child with a disability and share useful information with each other.
The Children’s Disability Forum City also provides activities and events for young disabled people aged up to 25 years old.
These are provided to help with promoting the “voice” of young people through age appropriate, high quality, creative activity.
Discussion with young people is about what matters most to them when they think about their health.
One to one appointments are available to meet face to face with young people or parent/carers to talk openly about health and social issues related to disability.
Themes emerging from our work and discussions with young people and parents are fed back to commissioners so that they can be taken into consideration during service development.
The Children’s Disability Forum City and Hackney offer an information and signposting library.
If we don’t have the information you need about local health services, we will help you try and find it.
For the last two years we have run fantastic project with young people at Hackney Empire. In 2017 we were upgraded to the main stage.
You can find out more about these here:

We are looking for young people who are under 25 years old, have a disability or additional need and live in City and Hackney to be part of a small group that we hope will make a difference to the lives of other young people.
We believe that "Together we can make a difference!" but we need you too.
● Do you want to be part of a small group of young people who would
like to discuss different topics with each other?
● Do you have things you would like to say to other young people about
what it is like to live with either a disability or a special need?
● Would you like to be one of the forum committee?
