Who we are..
Bikur Cholim provide culturally appropriate, home-based care and nursing services for children and young people from the Charedi (Orthodox Jewish) community and was founded to ensure that no person would have to face the challenges of illness and disability on their own.
What we do..
Bikur Cholim offer a range of services to help individual, families, siblings and children and young people who may be ill or disabled. A person centred approach aims to ensure clients are treated with respect, dignity and sensitivity.
Family Support Workers who provide practical and emotional support to families with disabled or sick children in their homes.
Domestic help - home helpers trained and supervised to help with household chores.
Young Volunteers service - providing buddying and mentoring, support with homework, suppertime, bedtime
A specialist Emotional Health Service including one to one support, assessments, counselling and therapies, bereavement support, family therapy and advocacy for young people and adults.
The service works together with individuals to encourage the person receiving care to make choices and be as involved as possible in the planning and delivery of the care, promoting independence dignity and respect. Services include:
