  • Young women who are looked after or within the care system

  • Young people at risk of involvement with crime or gangs
  • Young male ex-offenders aged 18 – 25

What do we do?

London Futures is an award-winning employability programme that engages young Londoners aged 18 to 30 who have a disability. We helpi them transition into work, education or training through sport and personalised career development.

How does the London Futures 3 phase programme work?

1. Recruitment Phase June to September

We deliver taster sessions and recruit young Londoners to start the programme in September.

2. Training for Work Phase September to May

Young Londoners attend weekly sport and employability sessions. This helps develop soft skills for the world of work through discussion, role play and interactive employability activities. It also provides opportunities to play sport, grow confidence, improve teamwork and decision making skills. In this phase, young Londoners also have access to weekly one to one personalised mentoring sessions with their coach mentor. This supports their ongoing career development. It may be support with; looking for work, filling out application forms, updating their CV or help with travel training.

3. Transition Phase June to August

We support young adults to prepare for a 1 week work placement. Some young adults may have already moved into work. We work on a case by case basis to support their next transition into employment, further education or training.

London Futures have developed an Inclusive Employers Network. We work with a range of employers from different industries to support them in their inclusive practices. We work with them to offer our young Londoners work experience, volunteering, and job opportunities where this is suitable.

Further information about the programme...

London Futures is delivered by Coach Mentors. With more than 20 years of lived experience of a disability our coach mentors have been through their own journeys of achieving employment with dedicated support from credible role models.

Our London Futures hubs are based in Sutton and Hackney. We also welcome and accept referrals from surrounding boroughs if young Londoners are able to attend our weekly sport and employability sessions.

We are recruiting young adults aged 18 to 30 who are:

  • job ready
  • independent travellers or working towards it
  • who need support to kickstart their future careers
