The Children's Audiology service sees children and young people with difficulties concerning their hearing or balance. The service can offer hearing aids where appropriate.
We offer long term follow up for children with a permanent hearing loss.
The service offers:
- Hearing tests
- Diagnosis of hearing problems
- Hearing aids where appropriate
- Long term follow up for children with a permanent hearing loss
- Children requiring further specialist input e.g. cochlear implant, grommets (sometimes used to treat conditions such as ‘glue ear’) may be referred to other suitable services
- Close working with other services children with hearing issues may use, such as speech and language therapy and specialist teachers
- Help for children with complex needs

Referrals are accepted from professionals such as GPs and speciality doctors, therapists and health visitors.
What to do if you have a complaint
You can talk to PALS who provide confidential advice and support to patients, families and their carers, and can provide information on the NHS and health related matters.
