Description

Who we are:

Hackney Citizens Advice Bureau (CAB) are part of a wider national organisation of Citizen Advice Bureaus. They aim to provide the advice people need for the problems they face and campaign to improve policies and practices that affect people's lives.

Some advice services from CAB are available to families with young children at Children's Centres across Hackney.

What we do:

The Citizens Advice service helps people resolve:

  • legal
  • money
  • and other problems.

They do this by providing free, independent and confidential advice, and by influencing policymakers.

CAB operate an Early Morning Drop-In Mon-Thursday from 8:30 am.

Clients are asked to arrive early for drop in sessions as all slots are usually taken up by 8:30am.

Mondays are especially oversubscribed.

CAB also operate out of Children’s Centres throughout Hackney. More information below.

Notes

Please Note: If attending a CAB Children's Centre session for help filling out Disability Living Allowance (DLA) or Personal Independence Payments (PIP) forms, parents need to call individual centres to book an appointment beforehand and must state this when booking their appointment.

This is because two separate appointments will be needed to complete the form filling process. Sessions generally last 30 minutes per person/family and these forms generally take much longer to complete.
