Cycling Club Hackney

Service details

Who are we?

Cycling Club Hackney is dedicated to promoting quality cycling and cycle sport for young people of all ages with a range of cycling experience from beginners to those with an interest in competitive racing.

Club rides run every weekend and are an opportunity for members and newcomers to meet and socialise.

What do we do?

The club organizes a number of events throughout the year - these include visits to Velodromes and racing and training trips abroad for some riders.

The club has an active youth section that caters for young people between the ages of 8 and 18 years of age.

Coaching sessions for 8 - 13 year old members run every Saturday morning (unless stated otherwise)

There is a separate group for development riders aged 13 years and older.

Sessions are either rides from the club to local parks or further afield for older riders.

What else might I need to know?

Depending on the programme sessions lasts between 2 and 3 hours.

The training format is sent out in a weekly newsletter email which those who wish to attend sessions should sign up for via the clubs own website.

All coaches are DBS checked and all coaching activities are provided by staff who have national governing body's British Cycling Level 2 coaching qualifications.

Newcomers must bring a signed parent or carer consent form available from the clubs website.

Parents and carers of our youth riders are welcome to assist at training and many volunteer during sessions. Some riders who have mild to moderate additional needs are supported to find their feet at the club by regular active parental involvement.

We ask that adult volunteers become club members and come to sessions equipped to ride.
