Who we are: 

The Geffrye Museum explores the home and the changing way people have live over the past 400 years reflecting changes in society and behaviour as well as style, fashion and taste.

Different rooms showing the changing period styles leads visitors on a walk through time from 17th to 20th century modern, contemporary living.

The rooms are complemented by period gardens and a walled herb garden which showing how the domestic garden has changed over time.

What we do:

Important Notice

The Geffrye is about to embark on a transformational £18m development project...

Unlocking the Geffrye

This will mean that the museum will close on 7 January 2018 for almost two years. 

Although the main museum building and period gardens will be closed, there will still be plenty of reasons to visit. During the time that the Geffrye is closed they will run a programme of events and activities in the front gardens.

The restored almshouse will also be open for tours on certain dates throughout the year.

What to do if you have a complaint

If there’s something you like or are not happy with, then talk about it with the worker or the manager so they can look at how they deliver their service. If you are still not happy, ask if they have a complaints procedure.
