Who are we?
We are a specialist children’s and special care dental service. We see children and young people who cannot receive treatment from a universal dental service.
Some of the treatment may be targeted (short term). Other patients with higher needs may be seen more regularly through appointments made with their special school in Hackney.
What do we provide?
Dental care to children and adults with special dental care needs.
Oral health promotion programmes in mainstream and special schools.
Oral health promotion advice, information and training to health, education or social professionals and vulnerable groups at health events.
Interpreters and advocates
If you have communication needs or need an advocate or interpreter please tell us when making the referral. If we know in advance both advocates and interpreters can be booked if needed.

All clinical dental staff; dentists, dental therapists and dental nurses, are registered with the General Dental Council.
All clinical staff hold professional qualifications.
Specialists in Special Care Dentistry dentist are available.

This is a service for children and adults with the following additonal needs.
- Learning disabilities
- Autism
- Physical and sensory disabilities
- Mental health conditions
- Behaviour problems and ADHD
- Dental phobias and anxiety
- Drug or alcohol addiction problems
- Medically compromised patients
- People who are unable to leave their house due to illness or old age.
- People who have dementia
- Adults and children who are homeless or in temporary accomodation

- Referral Details
Referrals are required to access the service.
These can be from general dental practitioners (high street dentists) or other health, education and social care professionals.
You can find our referral protocol on our website here.- What to do if you have a complaint
- You can complete a feedback form which is available at the dental clinic.
- You can make a complaint in person, directly to the staff member or service.
- You can make a complaint by telephone directly to the Customer Care Team. We will write down your complaint and send you a copy of it. Lines are open from 8am to 5pm, Monday to Friday. Customer Care Team Phone: 0300 123 1807Text: 07899 903499
