CPotential
Service details
Who we are:
CPotential (previously known as London Centre for Children with Cerebral Palsy) is a registered charity, based in North London, providing life-changing learning to help disabled children achieve their potential.
"Everyone has the potential to learn – we’re here to make that happen."
Conductive Education is used alongside a range of therapies to help each child develop confidence, skills and independence. Conductive Education is based on a ‘simple’ concept of human potential; meaning that everyone has the capability to learn and develop irrespective of their starting point.
What we do:
We work with children and young people aged 0-14 who have movement disorders due to conditions such as:
- cerebral palsy
- global development delay or
- acquired brain injury
CPotential can also help children and adults with other conditions and/or disabilities.
Services for children
CPotential offers Early Intervention and Sessional Services to help each child:
- take an active part in the learning process
- develop mobility, motor, sensory, communication, emotional, problem-solving and self-help skills
The service aims to provide a warm, supportive, fun learning environment celebrating each child’s achievements.
Conductive Education
Group sessions (weekdays, Saturdays and holidays) to help children:
- develop their mobility, motor, sensory, communication, emotional, problem-solving and self-help skills
- take an active part in the learning process.
Rebound Therapy
Tailored weekly sessions using a trampoline to help with mobility, balance and coordination.
Music Therapy
Weekly sessions using rhythm and music to help with motivation and concentration. Particularly helpful for children who communicate non-verbally as it enables them to learn how to express themselves in other ways.
Mollii Suit assessments for children and adults
Free Mollii Suit assessments for children and adults. The Mollii Suit is an innovative assistive device that helps relieve spasticity and improve muscle control for people with neurological conditions.
Support for parents
Support and information for parents and carers, a friendly, positive place to share ideas and concerns. CPotential produce their own videos with expert advice on topics such as clinical negligence claims and special education needs appeals.
Parents/carers are strongly encouraged to come and take part in sessions with their children helping them understand how their child learns and gain skills and confidence to continue the learning at home
Parents and/or service users are invited to visit the website or contact the organisation for more information or to book an assessment to see whether the services offered are suitable for their needs.
