Centre for Better Health
Service details
Who are we?
The Centre for Better Health is a community-based charity that supports well-being and recovery from mental ill-health.
What do we do?
We provide a holistic range of services in a trusted, community-based, non-clinical setting.
Better Health Counselling
Our low-cost counselling service helps people to make sense of difficult experiences.
Better Health Hub
Our Hub offers a range of low-cost creative, movement and therapeutic groups and courses to support self-care and promote wellbeing.
Better Health Training
Our social enterprise (comprising Better Health Bikes and Better Health Products) offers 12-week, work-skills training placements to help provide in-roads into employment for those who have been unable to work and struggle with their mental health.
Pathways to Better Health
Our outreach and support service offers individualised, flexible support for 18–25-year-olds living in City and Hackney who are struggling with their wellbeing. Whilst not a counselling service, we can offer a safe, supportive space to talk about how young adults are feeling and provide practical support to help. Our team will work with each person to set and manage goals according to their needs and aspirations.
Do clients have to pay for services?
We offer low-cost services and/or ensure that funded places are available, in order to provide greater accessibility to clients that otherwise may not be able to access non-statutory mental health services and wellbeing activities.
Our daytime counselling sessions and Hub courses are also offered on a sliding scale, with concession rates for those that have low or no income.
Hackney Residents can join the City and Hackney Wellbeing Network to access our Hub groups and courses free of charge.
