Who we are?


Hackney Youth Parliament is aimed at children and teenagers.

Hackney Youth Parliament makes sure decision-makers hear the views of young people in the borough.

There are twenty four elected members of the Youth Parliament and four additional members from specialist forums. 

The specialist forums include:

  • Young People with disabilities
  • Young Carers
  • Looked-after Children

What we do...


Hackney Youth Parliament runs regular campaigns on issues that matter to young people. They hold regular events and consultations to make sure they are representing the wider community.


How to get involved?


Elections for the Hackney Youth Parliament take place every two years.

Any young person can stand as a candidate, as long as they live, work or study in Hackney and are aged 11 – 19 (up to 25 with support needs).
