The Olive School is a Primary Free school. Founded by the Tauheedul Trust and conducted as a Muslim faith school for children aged 4-11.
Free schools are funded by the government but aren’t run by the local council. They have control over how they do things.
They are for all abilities, so can’t use an academic selection processes like a grammar school.
Free schools can:
- set their own pay and conditions for staff
- change the length of school terms and the school day
They don’t have to follow the national cirriculum.
Information about additional needs:
The government has asked schools to provide information about support for children with additional needs.
SEN Information Reports (SEN - Special Educational Needs) are intended to tell you the practical day to day approach taken within each individual school. They should be written in a way that is helpful, clear and meaningful for parents.
