Immediate Theatre – Youth theatre for young people
Service details
Who are we?
At Immediate Theater we have been providing high quality open access youth theatres on estates in Hackney since 1998. The programme has engaged thousands of participants who do not traditionally have access to arts opportunities.
Immediate Theatre’s purpose is to use theatre and the arts to help people engage with issues and concerns and to imagine the process of change.
We use the word “immediate” meaning “right here” on your doorstep and “right now” what is happening today.
We believe that the arts have an important and significant role to play in society and that art and theatre should be happening everywhere.
We involve communities in making theatre that inspires wellbeing, breaks down barriers and engages people in the process of personal and social change.
All our sessions are free, inclusive and open to all.
