Who we are…

HAS (Hackney Advice Service) is a partnership of organisations providing advice and support to specific client groups via drop in sessions, outreach and individual appointments. Partners involved in Hackney Advice Service include:


What we do…

We provide free confidential welfare rights advice for adults (aged over 18) with:

  • who are hard of hearing
  • who are visually impaired
  • who have mental health difficulties
  • Learning Disability
  • Learning difficulty

RSBC as a partner in the network also provide services for parents of a child/children who are blind.


We can support you with information on disability allowances and applications for Welfare Benefits:

  • Universal Credit
  • Employment Support Allowance
  • Personal Independent Payment
  • Disability Living Allowance
  • Housing Benefit
  • Council Tax
  • Immigration issues
  • Medical assessments

Who is eligible?

Partnership organisations within Hackney Advice Service provide advice and support for adults who:

  • are hard of hearing
  • are visually impaired
  • have mental health difficulties / conditions
  • have a learning disability or learning difficulty
  • parents who have a child/children who are blind
  • migrant, refugee or asylum seeking women

What to do if you have a complaint

All clients are asked to fill in a feedback form to ensure we are meeting the needs of our client groups and understand, if we need to improve, what areas we need to focus on.
