Specialist CAMHS offers families and young people:
- different kinds of talking therapies to help the child, young person, and family either separately or together

In agreement with the child, young person and family CAMHS may offer different kinds of medication treatments to help the child or young person.
CAMHS Homerton Row - Autism Support
CAMHS provides services for children and young people with mental health problems. A referral to the Specialist CAMHS team may be helpful to provide you and your family with professional help and advice if:
- You think your child or young person with autism has a co-existing mental health presentation such as anxiety or depression
- The problems do not go away or they begin to seriously interfere with their everyday lives e.g. not going to school, not eating, or sleeping.
You can be referred by a professional who knows your child e.g. GP or your child's School SENCo.
PEGASUS post-diagnosis parent information sessions
“PEGASUS is a psycho-education group for parents of children who have been recently diagnosed in Hackney with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Psyco-education means education offered to individuals and their families to help empower them and deal with their condition in the best way."
Pegusus sessions offer 2 morning sessions which are 3 hours long. The sessions aim to help parents understand more about autism and learn ways of managing their child’s difficulties related to autism.
To access these sessions you will be referred by the autism assessment team you received the diagnosis from if it is the most appropriate group for you.
The Coborn Centre for Adolescent Health
The Coborn Centre for Adolescent Health is an in-patient and day-patient service for young people who have a serious psychiatric illness including psychosis. Young people from Hackney may attend or be admitted if their support needs are very significant. The unit is located at Newham General Hospital.
If your child or young person has a learning disability or is autistic and is at risk of becoming an inpatient you can get specialist advice and support via the Dynamic Support Register and the Care, Education Treatment Reviews process.
