De Beauvoir Primary School

Service details

Who are we?

De Beauvoir Primary School is a community primary school, which means it is regulated by the local council and not influenced by business or religious groups.

The school is part of the Primary Advantage Federation, a group of eight schools that work collaboratively.

The Reception intake at De Beauvoir Primary School is 15 children per academic year.

We are committed to providing all pupils with equal, appropriate access to the curriculum regardless of any special need they may have.

We also recognise that some pupils will require amended provision to meet their needs.

Through a carefully planned and balanced curriculum we intend to secure a culture and ethos in which:

  • all pupils are valued and diversity is celebrated
  • all staff recognise their responsibility for ensuring provision for pupils with special educational needs and disability and strive to support access to the curriculum and full range of experiences on offer
  • all pupils have the opportunity to grow, from their different starting points, intellectually, physically, spiritually, socially and emotionally

Breakfast and After-school Clubs

Extended schools, after-school clubs, breakfast clubs and holiday clubs or playschemes, can help parents balance work and family life. They are Ofsted-regulated and offer parents and carers a cost-effective and safe solution to before and after-school childcare.
As part of the school collaborative working with partner schools in the federation, De Beauvoir's Breakfast and After-school Enrichment Activities are now hosted at Holy Trinity CE Primary School.

For Breakfast Clubs De Beauvoir School staff will collect the children from Holy Trinity at 8.30am, and walk them to school for the start of the day. For After School Enrichment activities, staff from De Beauvoir will walk children to Holy Trinity for the start of these clubs. Parents will then collect their children from Holy Trinity CE Primary School, which is located at Beechwood Road, London E8 3DY.

This is roughly a 5/10 minute walk from De Beauvoir Primary School.

Information about support for children with additional needs

The government has asked schools to provide information about support for children with additional needs in a format called the School SEN Information Report.

Special Educational Needs (SEN) Information Reports are intended to tell you the practical day to day approach taken within each individual school. They should be written in a way that is helpful, clear and meaningful for parents.

You can find De Beauvoir's latest SEN Information Report, the federation SEND policy and information about De Beauvoir's approach to supporting pupils with SEND on our school website here.

Queries related to SEND should be directed the SENDCo (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Coordinator) through the following email admin@debeauvoir.hackney.sch.uk

The school SENDCo is Rebecca Mackenzie.
