Preparing for Adulthood 14 - 18
Local authorities have a duty to provide, in one place, a description, of their offer of support for local children and young people who are aged 0-25 and have SEND (special educational needs and or disabilities).
The Local Offer is made up of support from education, health, social care and leisure services. Our Local Offer website is where we share information from services about their support, processes and opportunities with families and partners.
The purpose of the Local Offer duty is to:
- Provide clear, comprehensive, accessible, up-to-date information about available provision and how to access it.
- Make provision more responsive to local needs and aspirations by involving disabled young people, their parents and local service providers in developing and reviewing what is available.

Information for young people about services, support and things to do
These drawings are of young people from Hackney who have additional needs. An artist drew their portraits in the popular drawing style Manga used in some comics and cartoons. This was chosen by young people as their preferred portrait style. They were interviewed while being drawn and their experiences and suggestions will help services do more of what works and less of what isn't working.
