City of London Academy - Shoreditch Park
Service details
The City of London Academy (COLA) Shoreditch Park is a secondary mainstream school for boys and girls aged 11-19 years. It opened in September 2017 on a temporary site by has moved to a permanent home in a brand new building in Shoreditch Park in 2021.
COLA is an academy school. Academies receive funding directly from the government and are run by an academy trust. Academies do not charge fees.
As academies receive funding directly they have more control over how they do things, for example they do not have to follow the national curriculum and can set their own term times.
Support for children and young people with additional needs and or disabilities
The government has asked schools and academies to provide information about support for children with additional needs. School SEN (Special Educational Needs) Information Reports explain the practical day to day approach taken in each school to provide support to children and young people with additional needs, enable them to access the curriculum and school based opportunities and life in general. They should be written in a way that is helpful, clear and meaningful for parents.
