Who we are…
KIDS Adventure Playground - Hackney provides the opportunity for stimulating, accessible, inclusive play on a closed access site.
Closed access means the site is securely fenced and all gates are locked whilst children are on site to keep them safe.
The playground is below Springfield Park on the edge of the Lea Valley Nature Reserve and gives many children their first taste of:
A space to play A place to make friends Learn to ride bikes
|
Find new places to explore Watch trains Climb
|
Enjoy painting and creating Have fun being themselves |
Through play the playgrounds environment helps children build confidence, independence and freedom of choice whilst encouraging a shared social experience with others.
What we do…
Different projects are run with the children and Young People, which they are able help choose and plan.
Examples of previous projects are:
- A Healthy Living Project being run by the Youth Group, where they grow and cook their own food
- A music project with making, mixing and ‘DJ’ing
- A Graffiti / Street Art project
Although KIDS Adventure Play - Hackney is a specialist playground for disabled children and young people, it is not exclusively for those with disabilities and welcomes all children. This means, if appropriate, siblings can attend with your child.
The playground has purpose-built outdoor and indoor equipment. Children who attend are free to choose how they play in a setting that is welcoming, fun and supportive of their requirements.
