What do we do?

What we do and what you say at Hackney Captains sessions helps us understand how to change things for the better.  It gives you an opportunity to tell us what it was like using our services and say what you think would make things better.

We don't just talk we try to make all the sessions fun.  This sometimes means getting your help with; designing information and event leaflets, making the waiting areas in the building better for children and young people, voting for a name for a new service at the Ark, becoming a judge on a panel that gives out grants for things that help other young people have fun.

Why join Hackney Captains?

  • What you tell us will help make a difference.
  • You will get to meet other awesome young people who also want to make Hackney Ark better for all the young people who come here.
  • Being a Hackney Captain is a great way of adding volunteering experience to your CV which helps when you are applying for jobs
  • We want to make it fun and will listen to any ideas you have about how sessions can be enjoyable.
